Flamengo will train at Emelec and arrive in the city 3 days before the decision
The Conmebol Council met this Friday (30) to discuss various matters. Among the topics, Flamengo and Athlético-PR delivered the official schedule for the Copa Libertadores final, on October 29, in Guayaquil. The highest entity of South American football made a point of reaffirming to the clubs that there is no movement for a possible change of headquarters, the topic was not on the agenda at the meeting, but the rumors that surrounded social networks in recent days made the entity decided to reinforce. Flamengo and Athletico-PR also made it clear that they do not want an exchange at this time.
The duo even delivered the official schedule, which includes the arrival date and training in the city before departure. Flamengo, according to GOAL, will arrive in Guayaquil on the afternoon of the 26th and will train at Emelec's facilities. Dorival Júnior's team will carry out activities on the 27th and 28th. On the 29th, they enter the field against Hurricane, at 15:00 (local time), for the big decision. In addition to Conmebol and the clubs, the authorities of Guayaquil also confirm that the final is being played in the city. Not even the state of exception that Guayaquil is experiencing made Conmebol decide to change. The government of Ecuador assured the entity that there will be security for everyone and, if necessary, they will put the army on the streets. A change will only happen if the country informs that it is not in a position to keep tourists safe. In addition to reaffirming the commitment to the final in Guayaquil, Conmebol informed the clubs that it will evaluate some marketing actions to leverage ticket sales, still a little shy. Conmebol has already invested more than R$ 20 million in improvements to the Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo stadium. The city of Guayaquil also contributed, with just over R$ 10 million so far.
