Everything you should know to enjoy Rock in Rio 2022!
Rock in Rio is one of the biggest music festivals in the world, created in 1985 by businessman Roberto Medina. The festival will take around 900,000 people to Cidade do Rock, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in its six days of festival.
We can also say that Rock in Rio 2022 is even bigger than in previous years, because this year's edition will be the first post-pandemic, and as expected, it must follow all the safety protocols established by the Ministry of Health.
In addition, Rock in Rio 2022 has big names every night, bringing shows from big names like Iron Maiden, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Coldplay and Dua Lipa.
But do you know how to plan for this celebration of music? We tell you!

How to get to the festival
As we already mentioned, Rock in Rio takes place in the City of Rock, which is located in the Olympic Park, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Access to the site is simple and easy because at the time of the festival, the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro provides subway and BRT lines running 24 hours a day, every day.
Okay, now you have the basic information to be at the festival, but are you from Rio de Janeiro? If the answer is no, you probably need to start planning your trip, including airfare and where you will be staying.
Airline tickets
The rule is clear: the sooner the better! And the explanation is simple, the demand for air tickets in this period is high and therefore, the scarcer the tickets, the more expensive you will pay, so from the moment you decide to go to Rock in Rio, start your search for tickets to the Marvelous City.
Accommodation
The best place to stay in Rio de Janeiro, for easy access at the time of the festival, is Barra da Tijuca, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, as the neighborhood is located close to the festival site.
Even with high prices, it is a good place to stay, since the nightlife in Barra da Tijuca is bustling and safer, as it is an upscale neighborhood, and a great bet for those who want to get to know Rio de Janeiro.
